The India Competition and Regulation Report (ICRR 2015) is a compendium of policy research on the status of competition and regulation in India spanning across sectoral and institutional dimensions. This volume is fifth in the series of biennial reports, since 2007. The fifth ICRR Report is timely as it coincides with the efforts of the government to introduce the Regulatory Reform Bill which aims to bring parity across all regulatory institutions by ensuring healthy competition, orderly development of infrastructure services and protecting the interests of consumers. The Report covers sectors, such as Broadcasting, Highways, Higher Education, Banking, and cross cutting sectors: bringing back competition in multilateral trade discussions, independence and competence of regulatory institutions, regulation in developing countries: growing pains of the Indian merger review regime.
